Hello,
I am currently working on a project for the Scania Museum in Södertälje Sweden. It is the Swedish cross country ski team official “Team truck”. It is a very special vehicle since it is a Scania P-series CrewCab with Topline roof. There is only one cab of this version built so it is one of a kind.
I add a few pictures of the original truck and from the progress of the project so far.
More will follow…
Best regards
Håkan
Yes I have built a few other Scania models that I have at the museum such as a R480 8X8 Army truck, P380 4X2 Fire ladder, a T580 6x4 Heavy Haulage truck.
Just for fun I scaled down the graphics and printed it on normal paper just as a mockup to get an idea of how the result will be. It seems to work pretty OK. The version of graphics I printed is however not exact the same version as the original truck has. This was an earlier version but I will of course get the correct version for the graphics I will use in the final end. At least now I know that it might work....
Its time for a new update. I have done part of the paintjob and also started on the graphics on the cab. I have sprayed primer on the box and airbrushed the aluminum edges of the box. Now I am waiting for the graphics of the box to arrive. The company who have made the graphics for the original truck has promised me to make a set in scale 1/24 to this project.
Time for a new small update. I have now received the graphics in scale 1/24 from the company that made the original version and it looks really good!
I have finished the graphics on the cab so it is time for clear coat now. I also need to spray some more primer on the box so I can start with the graphics there as well.
That's a great advantage to get the grafics from the company which made it for the real truck. Saves you a lot of time
The idea to rebuilt a truck in scale is amazing. But don't you think the cabin is much darker than the grafics for the box? It looks so at the pictures.
Time for a new update this time mostly dedicated to the interior.
Next step is to fit the windows, interior into the cab, fit the cab and the box. Then it should just be to add some details and then it should not be so much more left
Time for a new update. Now there is not so much that remains on the truck, some smaller decals, beam with extra lights and a few other small things. However I have plans on making the fence on the box roof, stairs etc.
