Hello my friends - :baeh:

Yes - Finally I am back again,.

I started the construction, of the admiral's bridge, also known as the wheel house :ahoi:

Below are some photos of the progress I have made during the weekend.

After some research and discussions with my fellow friends at the club, I decided to sand off the finish and restart all over again.
below are some photos of the radar installation balcony platform, as I think it should be.
I still have to draw the black lining.

Another view.

A longitudinal view.

This is the first try to construct the admiral's bridge, and was not impressed by the result, so I decided to put it aside and start all over again.

The new pieces required for the admiral's bridge.

The brass stiffener sections, fitted in place to form the windows structure.

A rear view of the window panel wall in place, togather with the first part of the bridge roofing.
Cheers.

Hello again,

The second part of the bridge.

A front view of the bridge.

A rear view, showing the openings for the bridge access doors.

Applying the putty to form the circular edge of the bridge roofing.

An elevational view.

The circular back side of the bridge. As you can see, this is mounted on a jig, to retain the correct form, to allow installation of equipment and fittings; prior to fitting in place.

Checking for correct fit.

A rear view.
Cheers.

The last two pictures for today.

I shall post more progress pictures by next week.

A front view showing the mounting rack for the equipment and the two access doors located at either side, allowing access into the armoured tower.

A close up view.

IMPORTANT NOTICE.

I have some pictures of the bridge, but if anyone can please forward me any pictures related to the interior of the Scharnhorst's admiral bridge, I would be very grateful, as I would like to detail the interior of the bridge.

Thank you.
Cheers.

Hello Paul,

a few weeks ago I saw your thread for the first time and browsed it from the very beginning until the final post at that time. What you are showing here is totally mindblowing, quite different from what most people do, i.e., glue together some pre-shaped plastics parts.

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you with historical details about the ship because I'm really not an expert in this matter, but I'll be following this thread for sure. The pictures are just too amazing to miss them! :sabber:

Regards
-Thomas

Good morning to you all, 8)

The sun is shining, but still very cold, humid and raining in Malta. :bang:

During the weekend, I continued with the works on the admiral's bridge. mainly the window frames and the panel seatings for the clear glass panes.

Pictures attached.

The reinforcing beams, fitted on to the under side of the roofing slab.

Planning out the window frames.

Cutting out the access.

The cutting process.

The first frame separated from the rest of the grid.

The first frame, finished and ready for fixing and place and fitting on the rivets.

hi paul, sad to read about bad weather (even) in malta, but as long you use those rainy days
to work on your masterpiece, I see some benefits in yucky weather!

Hallo Roland,

Yes I have to say that the bad weather gives me more time to spend on my models, but unfortunately, I have to make amendsand a lot of promises to the Fuhrer (my wife).

hi paul,
good to read, you're happily married! maybe you find a more appropriate comparison,
regarding your wife's position in thefamily.
could be, some of our members are not too happy with an unfortunate choice of words!
I hope, you don't mind, as I am sure you just wanted to be witty!
